At this week-long invitational, artists will be traveling and painting scenes captured throughout the island of Maui, and will also come together to paint live at pre-scheduled public painting venues in West Maui and the Lahaina area.
All events are open to the public. Come watch as artists from across Hawaii and the US mainland create their paintings on location! Then join us as they bring their week’s worth of paintings to the show and celebration at Village Gallery in Lahaina Cannery Mall on the 2nd weekend: Friday February 21st, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of 2025
Kick-off Paintings Available at The Village Galleries
Freshly painted scenes from Canoe Beach and Kaanapali Beach Walk will be brought over to Village Gallery for the first group show and sale of the week.
Paintings will be hung by 1pm and available for purchase throughout the week

Join us at Village Gallery in the Lahaina Cannery on Friday at 5pm as we feature newly created works from the artists and celebrate the award recipients.
All paintings from invitational artists will be offered for purchase.
Sales continue Saturday 9am - 8pm and Sunday until noon.
Note: Village Gallery will be the only location where these original pieces will be for sale during the Paint Maui 2025 Plein Air Invitational.

Show and Sale at Village Gallery Lahaina
Join us for a traditional Hawaiian blessing at 4:45pm and the opening at 5pm to 8pm of our Art Sales as we celebrate the awards and spectacular works of art. Be the first to see these new paintings framed and hung in Lahainaʻs Village Gallery at their TEMPORARY LOCATION at the Lahaina Cannery Mall next to Jersey Mike’s Subs and Boss Frogs.
Sales will continue Saturday February 22 from 9am to 6pm and Sunday February 23rd 9am to Noon
Quick Draw with All Artists
Plein Air artists will be capturing the magic and history of Lahaina Come enjoy the morning and see how many artists you can encounter! Fresh paintings from this mornings locations will be available to purchase at Village Gallery at Lahaina Cannery Shops.
Youth Paint Out
Youth Paint Out ages 8 to 18 Free with guided instructions from Ellen Levinsky and her team of volunteers.
Final Showing at The Village Galleries Lahaina
Last call to take home that special piece! Come over to the gallery on Sunday for the final hours of the Plein Air Show and Sale.
Bid aloha to the artists, and see their newly created works hung in the gallery one final time 12 noon. The gallery will begin to transform back to itʻs local fine arts collection around noon, so be sure to arrive early as we wrap up the Paint Maui 2025 Plein Air Invitational.

“Jean Stern's presentation will focus on how fine artists have documented places that are eventually lost to us over time and with population growth. For the early years, artistic renderings are the only way we can experience the untouched beauty of Maui. In more recent times, artists depicted scenes that were lost forever in the great fire of 2023. This lecture will celebrate the importance of artists in documenting the fragile beauty of Maui.”
Unfortunately Jean will not be able to be here on Maui this year. He has in his place offered to have his friend and Artist Rick J Delanty to present the slide show.
Sunset Paint Out with all Artists: D.T. Fleming Beach & Ritz Carlton in Kapalua
Gather on Fleming beach and the Ritz Carlton property stretching up to the Hotel. With spectacular views overlooking the ocean and the island of Molokai, watch artists create paintings as they capture the light at the end of the day.
Then, join us at the Ritz Carlton Plantation Ballroom at 7pm for a free lecture and slide show.
Kick-off Paint Out with All Artists at Hanakao’o Park (Canoe Beach) Lahaina
Join all participating artists at the inaugural public event for the 2025 Plein Air Invitational! Come see the artists paint on location, en plein air, in the medium of their choice.
The Hanakao’o Park and Kaanapali beach walk have rich histories, with many iconic images to capture, with views of the Mountains, Pacific Ocean, the neighboring islands of Maui County, and the humpback whales this time of year will make for a spectacular way to spend a Saturday morning.
Hanakao’o Beach Park is located off of Highway 30 adjacent to the Kaanapali Hyatt Hotel . Look for the Sign on the highway.
